Mir Mahbubur Rahman Mughd, a student in the anti-discrimination student movement, has filed a complaint with the tribunal in the murder of his twin brother Mir Mahbubur Rahman Mughd.
He filed the complaint on Thursday (January 16) afternoon.
Earlier, on July 18, Mir Mughd was shot dead during clashes in Azampur, Uttara, over the quota reform movement. He graduated in mathematics from Khulna University in 2023 and was pursuing an MBA at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). At the time of his death, he had a blood-stained BUP ID card around his neck.
A video of Mughd went viral online during the student movement. In it, a young man is seen distributing water among the protesters saying, “Does anyone need water, brother, water?” The young man, Mir Mahbubur Rahman Mughd, was later shot dead by the police.
Mughda’s father’s name was Mir Mostafizur Rahman and mother’s name was Shahana Chowdhury. His village home was in Brahmanbaria. Among the three brothers, Mir Mahbubur Rahman was the youngest and Mughda was the youngest.
