The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has fixed the new price of autogas, keeping the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unchanged for the current January. The new price was announced by the company’s chairman Jalal Ahmed at a press conference held at the BERC office on Thursday (January 2) afternoon.
As the price of LPG remains unchanged in January, the price of 12 kg bottled LPG at the consumer level remains unchanged at Tk 1,455. However, the price of autogas has been reduced by 3 paisa per liter to Tk 66.78. This price of private LPG and autogas at the consumer level has been adjusted according to the Saudi CP (price of propane and butane gas) for January 2025 announced by Saudi Aramco.
Earlier, in the just-expired 2024, the prices of LPG and autogas were reduced in four phases and increased in seven phases. Among them, prices were increased in January, February, March, July, August, September and October, and prices of LPG and autogas were reduced in April, May, June and November. Of these, the price of a 12 kg cylinder was reduced by 1 taka in November. And lastly, the prices of LPG and autogas remained unchanged in December.
